Fluid exchange does nothing for the dirty filter or metal chips attached to the magnet in the pan. The pan should still be dropped first to inspect the bits at the bottom of the pan (a few metal particle are normal but clutch material would indicate an impending problem). The filter should be replaced and then the machine exchange would replace the old fluid in the torque computer. If the auto manufacturers would simply put a drain plug in the torque converter like the old cars had then you could completely change the fluid with a pan drop and converter drain.

When is the filter changed? Seems you need to change it or you would not filter the new fluid properly and would start with contaminated fluid.
