Top Four Regional Finalists Announced for the 2011 School of the Year Contest
4/11/2011
A record-setting 301 recommendation e-mails were received during the School of the Year promotion.
Akron, OH Tomorrow’s Technician and
WIX Filters have named the four regional finalists for the
2011 School of the Year.
The four finalists were chosen from the Top 20 schools
named earlier this year. The regional finalists were picked following a review
of their school’s profile binder that was assembled by instructors, principals,
department chairs and students all touting their automotive training programs.
School of the Year officials said this year’s program
was very successful, and that it was extremely difficult to narrow down the
finalists from such a fine crop of applicants.
A record-setting 301 recommendation
e-mails were received during the School of the Year promotion, nominating 95
various automotive technical, secondary and high school programs in the U.S.
The region finalists are:
Region One: Arapahoe Community College, Littleton, CO;
Region Two: Elizabethtown
Community and Technical College, Elizabethtown, KY;
Region Three: South Seattle
Community College, Seattle, WA; and
Region Four: Sinclair
Community College, Dayton, OH.
The 2011 School of the Year winner will be chosen from
these four finalists. That school will be featured in the May issue of Tomorrow’s
Technician magazine.
