Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS) Awards Scholarships

ADS – contributing to the educational progress of future diesel generations.
KANSAS CITY, MO The Association of Diesel Specialists
(ADS) has offered scholarships to individuals demonstrating an eagerness to
explore diesel technology and to develop skills necessary for a career in the
diesel industry. The scholarships seek to recruit new students to diesel
training programs at institutions participating in the ADS TechSmart program.
For the 2011 ADS/Henry and Esther Ortner Educational Foundation Scholarship,
ADS awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships to 10 students for the 2011-2012
academic school year.
The 2011 ADS/Ortner scholarship recipients are:

Bryan Buske of West Milford, NJ - WyoTech
Bradley Henry of Lockport, NY - Alfred State College
Thomas Kalman of Grand Island, NY - Alfred State College
Kyle Mason of Penn Yan, NY - Alfred State College
Luke McMillan of Upper Sandusky, OH - University of
Northwest Ohio
Luke Meuchel of Darby, MT - WyoTech
Tyler Spencer of Craig, CO - WyoTech
Andrew Walker of Meyersdale, PA - WyoTech
Zachary Woolard of Warsaw, VA. - WyoTech
The ADS/Henry and Esther Ortner Educational Foundation was
established in 1994 following receipt of a gift from the estate of the late
Esther Ortner, the widow of Henry Ortner Jr., the first ADS Technical Director.
In 1995, the ADS/Ortner Foundation’s trustees approved the Ortner Scholarship
program.
The scholarships are administered by the ADS Technical Education
Committee. Since the inception of the program, more than 285 scholarships have
been awarded totaling more than $210,000.
Applications for the ADS/Henry and Esther Ortner Educational Foundation
Scholarship are received through the automotive scholarship website, www.AutomotiveScholarships.com.
Through the efforts of ADS and other regional associations, along with the
supporters of the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) scholarship
fund, ADS is able to assist students pursuing a career in the diesel industry.
