Automotive Educators: Gates Has Launched a Website for You

The Gates Corp. has launched a new website for its revamped Tools for Schools (T4S) program for educators. T4S is a free interactive resource program developed to provide the latest training information to automotive and heavy-duty instructors. The site has been re-designed and updated to provide easier access to a variety of educational resources.

The new, easy-to-navigate T4S.Gates.com Gates Tools 4 Schoolsoffers access to presentations, technical tips, videos and webinars. The site also allows educators to create virtual classrooms for their students and assign training or manage student certificates through its Performance Center feature.

Highlights of the new Tools for Schools website include:

  • A specialized library of educational presentations on automotive systems
  • Technical tips from automotive experts
  • A video library with more than 20 training, installation and general automotive videos ready for streaming
  • Timely interactive webinar programs based on root cause failures / predictive failure maintenance

In addition to these online resources, educators can receive free training aids for their classrooms for participating in the program. Working through the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) Gift-In-Kind program, Gates donated materials valued at more than $90,000, including more than 430 training displays and tools to T4S members and NATEF-accredited programs nationwide. These resources assist instructors in teaching the latest information on failure and diagnostic procedures in vital vehicle systems.

“As advancements in the automotive industry cause vehicle systems to become more complex, it can be difficult for educators to have the latest resources to teach the next generation of professional technicians,” said Bobby Bassett, national training manager for Gates. “The Tools for Schools program makes it easy for educators to stay ahead of the curve and have up-to-date educational materials from a trusted source.”
