From Keith Farner’s article on the Gwinnett Daily Post website:

Before Dominick Montineri arrived at the Maxwell High School of Technology, his future was uncertain.

He enjoyed cars, but a career path hardly registered on his radar.

Yet sometime in the last 12 months — he’s not sure if it was the second semester or after the electrical unit of the automotive services pathway at Maxwell — something clicked. The Duluth High School senior found his calling, and if you didn’t notice he’s missing his left hand, it wouldn’t be an issue.

“It was kind of scary, to be honest, but when I got into it, it was natural,” he said.

In fact, teacher Max Chavez said he remembers the brief conversation he had with Montineri at the beginning of the school year.

“My name’s Dominick, I’ve got one hand.”

And that was it.
