Land Rover Tech Tip: 2013-2017 Range Rover With Dynamic Response Suspension

Let's take a look at a 2013-2017 Range Rover with dynamic response suspension.

Condition

A squeak, creak and/or a knocking noise from the front of the vehicle may be evident when driving over rough terrain.

Cause

This may be caused by debris contaminating the contact face between the Dynamic Response front stabilizer bar and bushes.
This Technical Bulletin does not apply to Autobiography Black or SVO models.

Correction

Should a customer express this concern, follow the Workshop Procedure below.

Parts

LR110782 Front stabilizer bar bushes x 2
LR050753 Screw x 4
LR045743 Bolt x 2

Repair Procedures

The Dynamic Response front stabilizer bar must be cleaned back to the paint in the area where contact is made with the bushings.
The paint on the Dynamic Response front stabilizer bar may be worn away; this is an acceptable condition. Do not install a new stabilizer bar for this issue.

Install the new Dynamic Response front stabilizer bar bushings. Remove dirt and/or debris from the section of the Dynamic Response front stabilizer bar that is clamped in the bush. Paint, if present, does not need to be removed. If required, use a locally sourced suitable strip of 320 grade abrasive paper/cloth to remove any built-up deposits. Use a locally sourced suitable brake cleaner to remove any dirt or grease residue.

Diagnostic Procedures For Stop/Start Systems

Stop/start technology is more than just a switch wired to the brake pedal and starter.

When trying to resolve a complaint, code or no-start/no-crank condition on a stop/start vehicle, it is essential to know how the system operates. The problem may not have a complicated reason – something simple may be causing the stop/start system not to work.

The greatest obstacle to the advancement of stop/start technology is the driver’s and technician’s lack of trust in and knowledge of the technology. Many older drivers and technicians fear that stopping and starting the engine will cause a shorter life for the battery, starter and engine. But the real fear is that the engine will not start again at a green light.
