Nominations for the 2012 Tomorrow’s Technician School of the Year, sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts and WIX Filters have closed.

The contest staff is in the process of choosing the Top 20 Automotive School programs. Schools picked as a Top 20 School will be notified the week of September 10 of this honor.

Those Top 20 Schools will have until September 28 to submit a video or a collective binder on their school’s automotive program, highlighting students and student auto projects, classrooms and the learning environment, instructors and staff, tools and equipment.

More details on requirements for the video or binder will be available to those schools next week.

The School of the Year contest staff will review the videos or binders submitted by the Top 20 auto schools and narrow the field down to the Top 4 schools in the nation.

The Top 4 schools will be named in early October.

The 2012 School of the Year will be selected from those finalists and will be profiled in the November issue of Tomorrow’s Technician magazine

More than 350 nominations were submitted on-line for the 2012 Tomorrow’s Technician School of the Year program.

The staffs of Tomorrow’s Technician, O’Reilly Auto Parts and WIX Filters wishes to thank everyone who submitted a nomination entry and for their participation in making this annual award a success.
