The Automotive Technology Department at Southern Illinois University recently received nine commercial trucks, engines, transmissions, and emission and driveline components.

One of the fastest-growing departments at SIU received a large donation Thursday.
The Automotive Technology Department received nine commercial trucks by Navistar along with several engines, transmissions and emission and driveline components.
Rush Enterprises also donated software that students can use in labs to understand the technology used in those trucks.
“They are going to be able to enter the workforce ready to go and to take their leadership positions and help move this industry and this country forward,” said Automotive Technology Department Chair Michael Behrmann.
