Sun Prairie High School automotive students took first place in the Firestone Challenge held at Madison College in Madison, WI.
From Tamar Myers’ article on The Star website:
For the second year, a team of Sun Prairie High School auto mechanics took first place in a Madison College competition – and the prize was big.
On April 29, automotive students gathered to welcome the arrival of a 1999 Chrysler Sebring car.
It’s SPHS’ third year in the Firestone Challenge, which has six different events including tire rotation and parts identification. Students undertake them in teams of two and are scored on speed and accuracy.
Each school’s two best scores are counted for the overall competition, and they can also be awarded individual prizes.
Ten schools competed – a total of 32 teams. Sun Prairie High School had six teams.
