Chipola College Automotive instructor John Gardner is looking for potholes in Chicago.
The long-time automotive technology instructor and national TV personality on Tech Garage is riding the streets of Chicago looking for potholes as an automotive and entertainment professional and part of the Pothole Dummy program presented by Advance Auto Parts.
Gardner, who also is the Florida College System Teacher of the Year, says, “This is a great opportunity to spend time in Chicago representing Chipola, Tech Garage and Advance Auto Parts.”
A specially equipped Dodge Charger will drive the streets of Chicago hitting potholes. Gardner and a team of automotive professionals will assess the damage done to the vehicle’s suspension and offer tips to fix the problems.
According to Advance Auto Parts, potholes cost US drivers approximately $3 billion every year. So Advance Auto Parts is partnering with Monroe and MOOG to conduct the most insane, pothole-pounding experiment the world has ever seen. What if instead of trying to avoid potholes, one brave soul attempted to hit every pothole he saw? John Gardner and others are setting out to learn everything there is to learn about potholes over five days on the streets of Chicago.
