Shell Lubricants announced a three-year agreement with Universal Technical Institute (UTI) to supply motor oil and other lubricants to 10 of its campuses across the United States. UTI is a leading provider of post-secondary education for students seeking careers as a professional automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle or marine technicians. As part of this agreement, Shell Lubricants will be used in all of UTI’s state-of-the-industry automotive and diesel training labs. Not only will students have the opportunity to use the latest products and technology, Shell will provide instructor technical training support and annual core training program scholarships.
Robert Bosch LLC has established an education scholarship and employment grant program through the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation with a gift of $50,000. With the new partnership with UTI, Interstate will provide the latest technology and curriculum support to help students excel in their education, as well as increase awareness of the opportunities available in the automotive industry.
UTI has announced a multi-year transformation plan developed to drive new student starts, completions and to enhance student success.
Offered at each of UTI’s 12 campuses nationwide, the program will consist of a series of three-week courses based on the same curriculum offered in the programs that full-time UTI students complete. Students can choose from collision repair, automotive, diesel or motorcycle training.
Developed in partnership with Roush Yates Engines, the new course will be offered at UTI’s NASCAR Tech campus in Mooresville North Carolina.
UTI graduates were among many industry award winners and finalists this year, including Nathan Reed, Navistar Top Service Technician Award for Truck, and Matt Johnson, Penske Elite Technician of the Year.
