Auto Tech Lab Open House At Kirtland

Kirtland Community College will have an open house to showcase its completely renovated automotive technology lab and teaching classrooms. This free open house will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Kirtland’s main campus, 10775 N. St. Helen Road. High school students and school officials are invited at attend anytime from 2 to 4 p.m.

Area auto dealers, repair shops and parts suppliers, as well as high school students, automotive instructors and counselors, are invited to tour the new facility and see the extensive improvements completed over the summer.

“The renovations to the automotive lab are incredible,” said Bob Oakes, Kirtland automotive instructor. “From a complete overhaul of the space to optimize workflow patterns, to entirely new equipment — this lab has it all. Kirtland has invested nearly $500,000 to streamline training and learning spaces, install all new equipment, computers and diagnostic equipment, creating what we believe to be one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in the state.”
