Leesburg, VA Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) announced the recipients of its “School of Excellence” and “100 Club” annual recognition.
The awards were presented during AYES’ annual Instructor Training Conference, held in Lake Mary, FL, July 19-21, 2010. SPX Service Solutions, Inc. sponsored the AYES Awards Dinner and provided Tool and Equipment Certificates to each school.
“School of Excellence” awards were presented to five automotive programs for outstanding implementation of all components of AYES’ school-to-career model. They are:
Caddo Career & Technology Center, Shreveport, LA (Gary Wesse, Instructor)
Greenville High School, Grenville, OH (Jim Anderson & Travis Nichols, Instructors)
Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology, Naples, FL (Eduardo Cruz, Instructor)
Northshore Senior High School, Houston, TX (James Elliott, Instructor; Vicki Johnson, Administrator)
Pasadena High School, Pasadena, TX (James Jackson & Chad Phillips, Instructors)
Two programs received “100 Club” recognition for placing 100 or more interns during their participation in the AYES mentoring program. Those schools are:
Caddo Career & Technology Center, Shreveport, LA (Gary Wesse, Instructor)
Edward J. Milliken Technical Center (Eastern Suffolk BOCES), Oakdale, NY (David Macholz, Instructor)
