Champion’s ‘King of the Road’ Contest Returns

King of the Road High-ResChampion Spark Plug brand announced the return of the popular Champion “King of the Road” contest, which will pay out 10 weekly $500 cash prizes and a $5,000 grand prize to the owners of North America’s hottest rides as judged by members of the Champion online community.

The contest will be open for entries at www.AlwaysaChampion.com beginning May 12, 2014.

To enter the contest, consumers simply must submit one or more digital photographs and interesting background information concerning their vehicles through the “King of the Road” link at www.AlwaysaChampion.com.

Members of the “Performance Driven” Champion online community will vote each week for their favorite ride, with the weekly winners receiving $500 and automatic entries into the $5,000 “King of the Road” grand-prize round. Last year’s grand-prize winner was Roger Walker, Jacksonville, Ark., whose beautifully restored 1966 Pontiac GTO beat out hundreds of entries from across North America.

“King of the Road is one of several grassroots programs that have helped Champion engage millions of digitally connected performance enthusiasts,” said Jessica Wynn, global digital marketing manager, Federal-Mogul Vehicle Components segment. “This innovative contest rewards consumers whose passion for performance runs every bit as deep as the professional racers we watch on television. Our strength at every level of the performance industry is part of what makes Champion such a great brand.”

Champion spark plugs are a leading choice of talented drivers, engine builders and teams in virtually every form of engine-driven competition, including professional stock car racing, NHRA® drag racing, local and regional circle track competition, and motorcycle, boat and snocross events. The Champion brand today represents a broad portfolio of additional products, including wipers, filters and chemical additives.
