East Community Learning Center’s (East CLC) automotive program in Akron, Ohio, hosted its first classic car show on June 2, featuring local classic cars and motorcycles.

During the event, the students and auto instructor Chad Groom displayed the revamped 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo they rebuilt to drag race spec’s. The car and the students were featured in the “Just a Car from Akron” story in the May issue of Tomorrow’s Tech.

The event was free to the community and students lead tours of the automotive service facility and judged the vehicles during the event.
Sponsored by Akron Public Schools and Don Joseph Toyota, the “Best in Show” trophy went to Dan Panaia’s ’63 Buick Riviera.
