From Kyle Boggs’ article on The Chronicle website:

About a year ago, a big, red, Ford F-250 was towed into Mike’s Automotive Shop at St. Helens High School. With multiple other projects in the works, the students worked on the donated pickup when their time allowed.

After those students put hours upon hours of their labor into the pickup, it’s ready to sell to the highest bidder.

The truck, along with many other items, will be auctioned at the St. Helens Sports Booster Club’s Lite Up the Nite Auction and Dance on May 7. Proceeds of the truck sale will be split between the auto shop at the high school and the Booster Club, which supports athletics at SHHS and St. Helens Middle School.

Students in Mike Herdrich’s class have developed a reputation over the years as a certifiable diagnostic and repair business. They have been recognized in both local and national media outlets and even helped save the auto-tech program at Hillsboro High School.
