About 45,753 Triumph Spitfire 4s were produced from 1962-1964. During the car’s first year on the market, Triumph’s U.S. sales climbed 25 percent and overall sales went up 30 percent! Sales continued on a strong trend.
This is the first of Bruce Leers three Milanos. It was constructed in 1959 and based on a 1933 MG J2 Chassis and suspension. Fitted with a MG TC motor bored out to 1466cc coupled to a close ratio MG TC gearbox, TC diff housing with modified A series diff center. The Milano body was constructed by JWF Glass-Fibre Industriess.
