Cars have come a long way since 1912, but we wouldn’t be where we are today in the evolution of the automobile had it not been for the 1912 Cadiallc. Employing the very first electric starter motor system, getting this car to start was far from straightforward.

Today, many of the new cars being sold have a push-button start-stop system; in five years, likely all new cars will come equipped with such. However, starting your car wasn’t always this simple.

Once it’s up and running though, the car seems to run quite smoothly, even after 100 years.
