3M Awards Tool Grants To Vets
The recipients, all military veterans, started their collision education at various colleges around the country beginning in the summer/fall of 2014. Each winning student had the opportunity to select $2,500 worth of tools to help them during their education and for employment after graduation.
PPG Industries Foundation Awards Four $5,000 Student Scholarships
The PPG Industries Foundation awarded four collision students with $5,000 scholarships through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. These scholarships are awarded to full-time students in a post-secondary school with a focus or degree in collision repair and who have demonstrated interest and involvement in the collision repair community through extracurricular activities. The funds will be used to assist students with educational expenses such as tuition, books, tools and equipment.
2014 Is Record-Setting Year For Industry-Sponsored Scholarships
The Class of 2014 set a new record in the scholarships awarded through the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) scholarships, University of the Aftermarket (UAF) scholarships and collaborating organizations at the automotivescholarships.com website: 295 awards for a total of $320,050. The previous record set in 2013 was 250 awards for $264,050. This year’s recipients include 241 U.S. students and seven Canadian students.
