Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Bosch Team Up to Create ‘Performance Art’

Using his race car as his paint brush, Falken Azenis RT615 tires as his paint, and the city streets of Los Angeles as his canvas, Vaughn left a unique pattern of tire marks, creating his performance art, titled “Abstract on Asphalt.”

Lubricants: Racing Oils Can Offer Extra Power & Protection For Your Performance Engine

High performance engines have a very small margin for error when it comes to tolerances and extreme loads, therefore the demand for lubrication is also much greater than in your typical production engine. So why would you entrust any off-the-shelf oil to protect those vital parts?

Performance, Robustness, and Durability of an Automatic Brake System for Vehicle Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) technology is presently
emerging in the automotive market as a convenience
function intended to reduce driver workload. It allows the
host vehicle to maintain a set speed and distance from
preceding vehicles by a forward object detection sensor.
The forward object detection sensor is the focal point of
the ACC control system, which determines and regulates
vehicle acceleration and deceleration through a
powertrain torque control system and an automatic
brake control system. This paper presents a design of an
automatic braking system that utilizes a microprocessorcontrolled
brake hydraulic modulator. The alternatively
qualified automatic braking means is reviewed first. The
product level requirements of the performance,
robustness, and durability for an automatic brake system
are addressed. A brief overview of the presented system
architecture is described. The control methodology of
generating brake pressure via a hydraulic modulator to
achieve the vehicle decel

Trucking Into Performance Mods

When Andre Soto of San Diego, CA, got his 1996 Toyota Tacoma truck during his junior year of high school, he wanted to modify it and add some performance features, but wasn’t really sure how. “I started going to car shows, and all I saw were all Hondas or Acuras,” Soto said. “I then
