From Mark Holan’s article on the Cleveland.com website:

When you think of body shop workers, you don’t think of where they got their start. The students in Parma Senior High School’s Auto Collision Technology program come from different backgrounds, but they all share an interest in cars.

Instructor Alan Bradny has been been teaching the class for 18 years, and he said that often the students have fathers who are “gear heads.” Of course, he means that in a respectful way, and Bradny’s morning class currently has 19 juniors and sophomores and six seniors in the afternoon class.

Dana Metz, the only girl in the class, is a junior and signed up for the class because her brother George had taken it. George now works for another graduate of the program, David Trafis, who owns 4 Wheel Customs in Independence.

Bradny teaches auto collision work is a process. They start with the damage repair, then do surface preparation. Then there is priming, spraying a base color and adding clear coat to the vehicle before a final buffing.
