From Samantha Stetzer’s article in the Winona Daily News website:

Recognizing there is more than one lane for workers to choose from for a career in the automotive industry, Minnesota State College Southeast Technical’s transportation programs on Tuesday hosted Transportation Career Night for interested students, families and community members.

The event featured industry experts and a glimpse into the college’s auto body collision technology, automotive technology, diesel maintenance technician and truck driving programs. Participants also had the opportunity to see students working on projects, tour semis and paint fenders.

Last year, the event was geared only toward auto body collision technology, but the success of the event in engaging eventual new students to that particular program inspired the school to feature all of the transportation programs and the many choices the college offers, event organizer and auto collision technology instructor Tom Brandt said

With representatives from Fastenal, Rochester Ford, Holmen Auto, PPG, Winona’s own Motor Parts and Equipment (MPE) and more industry leaders, Brandt said the event was designed to educate interested students and their parents about the many career choices available within the automotive industry.
