Clarissa Jenkins, a senior at North Thurston High School in Lacey, Washington, will be competing for a national title in June.
From Drew Mikkelsen’s article on the NWCN website:
Clarissa Jenkins didn’t let it bother her that the boys were laughing at her.
It helped motivate her to beat them.
“I’m competitive,” said Jenkins, a senior at North Thurston High School.
Last month Jenkins became a two-time state championship in a competition where students have five to seven minutes to demonstrate a job skill.
Jenkins’ event: repairing drum brakes.
She learned how to fix cars from her brother and in the school’s automotive class.
