Duncanville Automotive Program Receives Grant

Tomorrow’s Tech (TT) delivers technical information for servicing today’s vehicles to more than 40,000 automotive students enrolled in more than 1,100 technical and vocational schools across the country.

Duncanville High School’s Automotive Technology Program was recently awarded a $10,000 “Real Tools for Schools” grant by Ingersoll Rand. The grant will allow instructors at DHS to purchase necessary curriculum, tools and machinery to keep the program competitive with the latest technology.

Students enrolled in the automotive program at DHS can complete the Automotive Service Excellence Student Certification (ASE) and directly enter the workforce following graduation. Automotive instructor Johnny Burkett said he plans to add curriculum to provide additional certifications for his students and to purchase tools currently being used in the automotive industry.
