Automotive for Everyone Class Teaches Practical Car Maintenance

AutoforEveryoneAutomotive for Everyone continues to be a popular course offering among Winfield High School students. This class provides general knowledge that everyone should have about automotive maintenance and repair. Students with any level of knowledge or experience with automobiles can benefit from the classroom and hands-on instruction.

Students study a wide variety of maintenance and safety topics, including how to check fluids in the engine, radiator, transmission, power steering, master cylinder, etc. They learn to inspect and replace belts, hoses, brakes, battery, light bulbs, fuses, etc.  Roadside emergencies such as jumpstarting, towing, and changing a flat tire are also taught.  Instruction is given on interior and exterior care and maintenance, including detailing, waxing, and buffing out scratches.  Financial information such as what to look for in purchasing a new or used car, leasing, tags and taxes, and insurance is also covered during the semester.
