Lincoln Educational Services Corporation announces the expansion of its partnership with Matco Tools, a manufacturer of transportation maintenance equipment. Under the new agreement, Matco will supply complete industry-standard tool kits to all Lincoln Tech transportation-focused programs around the country.

“Matco has become recognized as the standard tool choice in the auto industry,” says Scott Shaw, Lincoln Tech’s president and CEO.  “We want our students to have industry-recognized professional grade tools to proudly display as a symbol of their Lincoln education.”

Many of Lincoln Tech’s campuses have already received their Matco kits; by Spring 2017 all of Lincoln’s automotive and skilled trade campuses around the country will be outfitted with these kits. The agreement with Matco represents a consignment investment of more than $8 million – an investment made by Lincoln Tech to ensure graduates are well-prepared to enter their chosen career field after graduation.

The campuses receive tool kits for use by students in hands-on training programs for Automotive Technology, Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology, Diesel & Truck Technology, and Heavy Equipment Technology.  Training in these fields gives students the experience needed to overcome the Skills Gap and get noticed by employers after graduation – and through the Matco vouchers that are part of the new agreement, students can purchase their first entry-level tool kit at nearly a 50% discount from Matco.

“We’re giving students a head start in their career,” says Lou Vendrell, corporate director of education for Lincoln Tech’s Automotive and Skilled Trades program.  “This is another example of how Lincoln Tech is aligning our company goals with industry-recognized brands and providers.”

Tim Gilmore, president of Matco Tools, says Matco is equally excited to expand their cooperation with Lincoln Tech.  “We are proud to provide our high quality tools and equipment products to Lincoln students,” Gilmore says.  “Matco’s goal is to provide all technicians with the tools they need to get the job done effectively and efficiently, and we couldn’t be more excited to offer our products to students just starting out in the [transportation] industry. We look forward to building long-lasting relationships with Lincoln Tech students as they grow in the classroom and in their careers.”
