Legendary custom car designer Chip Foose has announced details around the unveiling of his latest automotive masterpiece, the 1939 Cadillac custom known as Madam X. The official unveil of Madam X will take place at the BASF booth (# 20367) in the main hall at SEMA on November 1 at 12:30 PM. The event will feature an autograph session, a short presentation from Chip Foose, and the world premier of Madam X.

Fabrication began with a 1939 Cadillac Four Door 60 Special and was inspired by an original 1935 concept sketch by GM designer, Art Ross. Madam X is now re-bodied as a 2-door coupe that has been lowered, shortened, and customized into a masterpiece of old-school coachbuilding. Foose has added his own unmistakable eye for clean design and bespoke touches on this truly one-of-a-kind creation for automotive dealership magnate Wes Rydell. After three decades of  stylistic evolution and perfecting his craft, Madam X represents a new chapter in Foose’s 30 years in design, and one that should leave a major impression at the SEMA show.

The Madam X features a powerful Corvette, Gen V LT-1 motor, an 8-speed 8L90 automatic transmission from a Cadillac Escalade coupled to a Camaro Z01 third member, C6 Corvette suspension front and rear, and Pirelli tires to ensure modern performance alongside its classic design. In addition, the body features all-new chrome trim, a custom leather interior, one-off cloth Carson top, custom-mixed BASF paint, stunning painted blonde wood dash, and bespoke MHT billet aluminum wheels styled to resemble classic Cadillac hubcaps.

“I can’t wait to finally pull the wraps off the Madam X Cadillac,” said Foose. “With its mix of old-school class and cutting-edge technology, the Madam X is becoming one of my all-time favorite builds.”
