Universal Technical Institute Foundation Announces Knight Transportation Diesel Scholarship Program

Scholarships Will Help Deserving Students Seeking a Technical Education in the Diesel Industry.

PHOENIX Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation today announced that Knight Transportation has established a scholarship program for students seeking degrees in UTI’s diesel industrial program at Avondale, AZ, Glendale Heights, IL, Houston, TX and Sacramento, CA campuses.

Three $2,500 grant-in-aid scholarships will be awarded annually to students who understand and exhibit the traits necessary to have a successful career in the diesel repair industry.  

Students must have completed 25 weeks in UTI’s diesel industrial program, be in good standing and submit an essay expressing how the scholarship, prorated over the remaining term of the program, would assist them in completing their technical education.

“Knight Transportation recognizes the value of good technicians and is always looking for individuals who combine strong technical skills and a good work ethic, ” said Kevin Knight, Chairman and CEO of Knight Transportation.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with UTI by assisting eligible students in UTI’s diesel industrial program complete their technical degrees.  Our hope is that these funds will allow more talented technicians to enter our industry and possibly choose to be a part of the Knight Transportation team.”
 
“The scholarships created by Knight Transportation will help deserving students earn a technical education to pursue a successful diesel career,” said Veronica Meury, vice president and executive director of the UTI Foundation. “These $2,500 awards will reduce the tuition gap, making it possible for recipients to fulfill their educational dreams.”
