During a press conference at AAPEX, the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF) announced 2019 scholarship applications increased almost 40% from last year and updates to donation processes with the UAF Legacy Club.

UAF awarded a record 415 scholarships, for a record total of $574,600 in scholarships for 2019. Students training to become technicians made up 65% of this year’s scholarship recipients, while 17% of recipients were majoring in four-year business programs and 11% were pursuing engineering careers.

Looking ahead for 2020, UAF will continue its student “prospect” database where students can text their information to access scholarship applications. The new year will also present planned giving opportunities with the UAF Legacy Club. Membership in the Legacy Club recognizes those who have designated a special gift to benefit UAF through a variety of new giving arrangements including annuities, trusts, stock, retirement assets and life insurance policies.

“We have the future to grow this into a solid method for leaders to contribute to the industry,” said Roger McCollum, AAP, secretary of the UAF executive committee.

UAF has also launched a new website at UofA-Foundation.org for both students and donors.
