Young Drivers Keep New Car Sales High During Quarantine

Since its introduction in 1979, the Little Tykes Cozy Coupe has the distinction of being one of the top cars sold worldwide.

Concerns about stagnant or falling new car sales are legitimate, say experts but according to one report, one brand in particular has seen a marked uptick during national quarantines.

According to a recent story in Smithsonian Magazine, the Cozy Coupe from Hudson, OH-based Little Tykes outsold all engine-powered cars in Great Britain in March 2020. “More than 85,000 were purchased that month as parents faced the prospect of being trapped at home with energetic toddlers during the COVID-19 lockdown.”

According to Little Tykes in 2013, if you stacked the more than 10 million Cozy Coupe® Cars that had been manufactured to date since 1979, they would reach 5,682 miles high, approximately 24,000 times the height of the Empire State Building. Seven years later, imagine the gridlock now!
