UTI Foundation Announces $100,000 A. Richard Caputo, Jr. Scholarship Program for Technical Education

Over the next five years, Caputo’s $100,000 donation will create 40 $2,500 scholarship awards to deserving individuals who are pursuing automotive careers by enrolling at UTI.

PHOENIX,  – Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Foundation http://www.utifoundation.net  announced the A. Richard Caputo, Jr. Scholarship program to help defray tuition costs for future students seeking a technical education at any one of Universal Technical Institute, Inc.’s eleven campuses nationwide.

Over the next five years, Caputo’s $100,000 donation will create 40 $2,500 scholarship awards to deserving individuals who are pursuing automotive careers by enrolling at UTI.

“I am proud to recognize and support education for deserving men and women who are aiming for a technical career in the automotive industry,” said Caputo, managing principal at The Jordan Company.

“It is my hope that this scholarship program will inspire more people to not give up on their career choice due to financial hardship and are able to earn a top-rated technical degree by attending Universal Technical Institute.”

 “As a UTI board member, Mr. Caputo has been a strong advocate of education and he recognizes that helping individuals continue their post-secondary schooling is one of the big challenges our nation faces,” said Veronica Meury, vice president and executive director of UTI Foundation .

“We are extraordinarily grateful for his vision and leadership through the creation of a scholarship program that will help others obtain the technical training they need to follow their passion and pursue successful automotive careers.”  

Students who fit the criteria, complete the application and gain the endorsement of an employer, guidance counselor or teacher, are encouraged to apply for the award. UTI is a leading provider of technical education for individuals pursuing careers as professional automotive, collision repair, diesel, marine or motorcycle technicians and has over 130,000 graduates in its 45-year history.
