Report Card: Performance Tips From a Model Student

Chloe Picart, an 18-year-old student at Lincoln Technical Institute, studying automotive technology, said she loves the idea of being a girl in a male dominated industry.

Chloe Picart, an 18-year-old student at Lincoln Technical Institute, studying automotive technology, said she loves the idea of being a girl in a male dominated industry. “Currently, I am the only girl in my class and I have only seen three other girls in the whole school!”

Her daily ride is a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse. “It’s got a lip kit, aftermarket spoiler, new paint job, projector head lights and custom star tail lights,” Chloe said. “For the underbody, there’s seven color LEDs, clear front and rear corner lights, interior chrome trim kit, diamond plate floor mats, custom star headliner, white interior Neons, pink map lights, and tons of other little things.”

Chloe, a Paramus, NJ native who also spends time as a model, said she entered the automotive industry after falling into a group of friends that were really all about cars. “My car only had very minimal things done to it,” Chloe said. “So, I joined their car club, and I was hooked. I learned so many other things that could be done to my car. They taught me a lot, and I decided I wanted to keep going.”

Chloe said she was never the type of person to just settle for any old car. “I knew I had to have something pretty. When I saw the Eclipse, I fell in love!”
Chloe said within the last two years, she’s really gotten into vehicle performance and modifications. “I think it’s extremely interesting,” she said. “I love modifying cars and I would be lying if I didn’t mention the fact that there is a lot of money to be made!”

Following graduation, currently set for September of 2008, Chloe said she would like to work in a dealership. “I hope to intern in one towards the end of school. I would like a higher position preferably. Not a manager, but maybe something close.”

Chloe isn’t the only one in her family who’s experienced with cars. Her future career choice would follow close to her grandfather’s. “My grandfather has owned a garage since way before I was born,” she said.
